A Couple of Things

1) Mirror Neurons: This article talks about how there's a little piece of our brain that puts itself in another person's shoes while we watch them. This allows us not only to empathize with that person, but also learn skills and activities without having to physically do them ourselves. Pretty interesting.

2) Worldwind, from NASA, is the coolest toy ever! Check it outhere!

3) It looks like I'll never get to that GDC update. Consider it a suprise if it finds itself here. So, here's a basic overview:

The new venue had overall larger rooms, but had smaller halls, making the conference seem really packed. It was packed, with over a thousand more attendees than last year, but the cramped pathways made it seem worse. The big events were done in rooms that were too small for the crowds that wanted to be in them, and this left everyone with a bad taste in their mouth.

The quality of the talks this year seemed a bit less interesting this year. Maybe I'm becoming jaded. I'm starting to be drawn towards the business talks, rather than the design talks, since that's an area I don't have a lot of knowledge about. The best thing I went to during the week was a day-long tutorial on how to sell your business. I thought it would be dry, but it turned out to be highly informative and entertaining.
