Best Comic
This past week was, again, one of tepid mediocrity. Here's the list:
Annihilation Conquest #5: A padding issue developing the climactic fight in #6.
Avengers Fairy Tales #1: I bought X-Men Fairy Tales and thought it was good. This was only sorta kinda ok. Art was good, story meandered a bit and deviated so far from the Peter Pan source material that it couldn't use the strength of that tale to make the entire story more powerful.
Avengers Initiative #10: Lots of Avengers this week. A decent issue with a few really funny lines between Ant-Man and Taskmaster.
Countdown #7: The story takes a left turn and leaves everyone confused inbetween meaningless fights.
Mighty Avengers #10: Iron Man and Doctor Doom create a truce as they escape from the past. A few good conversations, but Sentry's mental instabiliy is already more tired than Superman's weakness to a rock.
Nova #11: Warlock from the New Mutants returns! That's how low they'll go to find story right now.
The Last Defenders #1: A new Giffen book! Hopefully, the characters will develop. Personally, I think Stark staffed this offshoot of the Initiative with everyone he knew for sure was a skrull.
Wolverine #63: So, isn't "Wolverine: Origins" about the past, and "Wolverine" about the present? It seems reversed now.
The winner: this week's winner is Henry Killinger and his Magical Murder Bag. Congrats Henry!
